Gabriele Kister (born June 8, 1947 - December 4, 2016 in Berlin ) was a German screenwriter who wrote scripts for film adaptations by Rosamunde Pilcher , Utta Danella , Barbara Wood and the television series Der Bergdoktor und Familie Dr. Kleist wrote.

biography

Gabriele Kister wrote her first screenplay in 1993 with the title Fluchthilfe for the television series Der Bergdoktor . This eventually resulted in scripts for 21 episodes of the series, ending in 1998 with the episode Storm in the Heart . In 1997, Kister wrote her first screenplay for the film adaptation of a story by Rosamunde Pilcher entitled Wind of Hope , the English version of which was written by Jennie Blackton. Rolf von Sydow directed this film . In the same year another script followed, based on Pilcher's template, "Spanish Ladies" with the German title Zwei Schwestern , which in turn was directed by Sydow. Sydow also directed the 1998 Pilcher films Der Preis der Liebe . Another film adaptation with the title Thorns in the Valley of Flowers, based on a script by Kister, was also released in 1998, directed by Dieter Kehler , with whom Kister worked on five other films in the series. In 1999 two more films were made within the film adaptations based on Rosamunde Pilcher, which were followed by a further 13 scripts by 2014, ending in 2014 with Rosamunde Pilcher: Evita's Rache , based on the story "Anna Alone".

She wrote Kister's first screenplay based on a work by the American writer Barbara Wood for the 1998 film Herzflimmern , in which Dieter Kehler directed and Maria Furtwängler , Ursula Buschhorn and Carol Campbell played the leading roles. Kister also wrote the screenplay for the 2001 drama based on Barbara Wood Traumzeit with Alexandra Kamp , Hardy Krüger junior and Mariella Ahrens . Also for the 2005 published romantic drama Barbara Wood - The House of Harmony . In the period from 2002 to 2004, four scripts were also created based on the works of the German writer Utta Danella . From 2006 to 2013, Kistner wrote fifteen episodes in the family series Dr. Kleist scripts.

For the movie Fireheart - The Journey of Young Awet , which was released in 2008, Kister wrote the screenplay with Luigi Falorni . The story is about a child soldier in Eritrea during the civil war . Kister also wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of Iny Lorentz 's novel Die Wanderhure (2010) with Alexandra Neldel in the title role. Iny and Elmar Lorentz said, “It is impressive how the screenwriter Gabriele Kister and the director Hansjörg Thurn have translated their novel into the medium of film”.

Kister's last work is listed for the 2018 television film Dich zu liebe based on the Irish writer Cecelia Ahern with Jessica Ginkel and Kai Schumann in the leading roles.
