Iny Lorentz

Iny Lorentz is one of the pseudonyms of the German writer couple Iny Klocke and Elmar Wohlrath. Her books had a total circulation of 13 million copies by 2016.

Life

Iny Klocke (* 1949 in Cologne ) made up her Abitur at the evening grammar school, broke off a medical degree and then turned to IT. In 1980 she moved to Munich, where she worked for an insurance company.

Elmar Wohlrath (* 1952) comes from Franconia. He met his wife in 1978 in SF - and fantasy - Fandom know and moved in 1981 also to Munich, then worked in the same company as his wife. Since 2007 both have lived as freelance writers near Munich.

After first publications in fantasy and SF fanzines , texts by the two appeared in anthologies by Goldmann, Heyne and others

In 2003, the historical novel Die Kastratin, written under the common pseudonym Iny Lorentz , brought the breakthrough. All of the following Iny Lorentz novels made it into the bestseller lists and also appeared as audio books . The most successful Iny Lorentz novel to date is The Wandering Whore . Several works have been translated into other languages.

Film adaptations

The novel Die Wanderhure was filmed in 2009 with Alexandra Neldel in the leading role and first broadcast on October 5, 2010 by Sat.1 . The film received the Diva film award as the most successful German television film of 2010.

The sequel Die Kastellanin was filmed as Die Rache der Wanderhure 2011 and first broadcast on Sat.1 and ORF Eins on February 28, 2012.

The third novel in the wandering whore series, The Legacy of the Wandering Whore , was broadcast on November 12, 2012 by Sat.1 and ORF Eins .

On January 5 and 6, 2014, ZDF brought the Iny Lorentz novel Die Pilgerin with Josefine Preuss in the leading role to German screens.

From the emigrants series 2014, the first part was the golden shores of the ZDF filmed in Prague, the premiere took place in April, 2015.

In autumn 2016, Die Ketzerbraut was filmed with Ruby O. Fee in the title role for ORF and Sat.1.

theatre

In 2014, Die Wanderhure premiered as a play at the Bad Hersfeld Festival.

In 2015, Dr. Alfred Meschnigg the hiking whore as part of the South Tyrol Open Air Summer Games on the stage of Runkelstein Castle near Bozen.

In 2016 the platform for independent theater productions - Theaterlust der Wanderhure took on and went with her on a tour through 42 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In the same year Theaterlust was awarded third place at the INTHEGA “Die Neuberin” prize for its stage version of Wanderhure .

German Audio Book Award Gold

The audio book of the Wanderhure was awarded the German Audio Book Award Gold (equivalent to the golden record ) by the Federal Association of the Music Industry in 2011 .

The novel Die Rache der Wanderhure (Knaur, ISBN 978-3-426-51005-6 ), published in 2012, is not a continuation of the series, but is based on the script of the film of the same name . This, in turn, is based on the novel Die Kastellanin , but, like the book adaptation, deviates from the original in numerous cases and thus tells an alternative plot.
