action

The merchant's daughter and former hiking whore Marie lives with her husband Michel as a respected baroness at King Sigismund's court. She is expecting her second child when her husband Michel is made First Knight by King Sigismund. Michel's oath of allegiance obliges him to follow the king in the threatening war against the Tatars . With a heavy conscience, he lets Marie travel alone from Nuremberg to Hohenstein for the upcoming birth . While Marie shows little understanding for Michel's loyalty to the king, Sigismund's power-hungry mistress Hulda von Hettenheim forges a diabolical intrigue: She kidnaps Marie and takes her newborn son in order to present him to the king as her own child and thus the rightful heir to the throne. While Sigismund is on the verge of going into battle against the Tatars, Hulda has long since allied herself with the enemy: With the help of Andrei Grigoryevich, the foster son of the Tatar prince Terbent Khan, she wants to overthrow Sigismund and rule as the king's mother from now on. Andrej kidnaps Marie and keeps her as a slave in his harem.

Marie's only way to thwart the conspiracy of her rival Hulda to see her son alive again and to prevent the storm of the " Golden Horde " on Sigismund's weakened army is through Andrej's favor.
