Götz Otto (born October 15, 1967 in Offenbach am Main , Hessen ) is a German actor . He had his internationally best-known roles in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies and in the film Iron Sky .

Götz Otto's parents ran a bakery in Dietzenbach . After graduating from the Leibniz School in Offenbach am Main , he attended the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . In 1991 he played at the Schiller Theater in Berlin.

During his training at the University of Performing Arts in Graz and the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich (1989–1993) Otto took on roles at the Schillertheater in Berlin and at the Münchner Kammerspiele. From 1993 to 1995 he played in the Residenztheater in Munich and in several television and cinema films. He became suddenly known, also internationally, with his role as the henchman of the villain Elliot Carver ( Jonathan Pryce ) in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies .

This was followed by concise roles at home and abroad, for example in three films by Spanish director Fernando Trueba ( The girl of your dreams , original title La niña de tus ojos , El embrujo de Shanghai and El Artista y la modelo ), in Johnny Campbell's English fantasy Comedy Alien Autopsy - Das All as a guest with friends and in the Bavarian comedy Grenzverkehr and in Oliver Mielke's crook comedy Ossi's Eleven (2008).

Götz Otto occupies very different genres on television - from action like Millennium Mann (2003), romantic melodrama like Apollonia (2005) to the Christmas comedy Save the Christmas Goose (2006). From January to March 2008 he played again in front of a theater audience in the modern comedy And Evening Guests at the Berlin Theater on Kurfürstendamm . In addition to his acting work Otto belonged already to rate pool of HR telecast street stars .

In 2004, the 1.98 meter tall Götz Otto played Sturmbannführer Otto Günsch in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Der Untergang . In the summer of 2005 he played as the villain Harry Melton in the ensemble of the Karl May Games Bad Segeberg . He plays one of the main characters in the Energia production Iron Sky (2012). He also had a role as voice actor in the game Harvey's New Eyes by Daedalic Entertainment .

On December 7th, 2010, Otto achieved first place at the TV total PokerStars.de night and won prize money of 50,000 euros.

In 2013 Otto got involved in the project 365 days - and every single one counts! for the German Children's Cancer Foundation , in which he lent his voice to the radio play Max & Moritz together with Hans-Joachim Heist . On June 11, 2018, he participated in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Celebrity Special took part and earned 32,000 euros.

Otto is married, has three daughters and one son and lives with his family in Krailling near Munich.
