Stephen Dürr

Stephen Dürr (born July 27, 1974 in Hamburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Stephen Dürr attended drama school Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles in the United States .

On November 28, 1994 he had his first appearance in the daily soap Unter uns on RTL . There he embodied the role of Till Weigel . From 2006 to 2009 he was in the daily soap Everything that counts as Mike Hartwig . Before that, he was a member of the actors' ensemble of the ARD series In aller Freunde for seven years and, in 2000, the ensemble of St. Angela (also ARD). He played in the 13-part ARD coproduction Die Sonnenlanze and took on various episode roles .

A personal life crisis and the suicide of a friend he addressed in his book Back in Life .

He founded the DKY - Don't Kill Ya'self project and has a video blog in the Bild newspaper's online service .

On November 14, 2012, he suffered an accident in the Berlin swimming and diving hall in the Europa Sportpark while preparing for the ProSieben show TV total high diving . Dürr lost control when jumping off the 3-meter board and hit the surface of the water with his forehead in such a way that his head was jerked back. He was then treated for three days in intensive care because of a suspected spinal cord injury . In 2016 he sued the Cologne-based production company Brainpool at the Cologne Labor Court for compensation for pain and suffering. In September 2016 he took part in the fourth season of " Celebrity Big Brother " on the private broadcaster Sat.1 . Dürr took eleventh place.

Stephen Dürr has been married to his wife Katharina since August 2009 and lives in Hamburg. The two became parents of two daughters in August 2010.

Dürr can be heard as the narrator on the documentary Pope John Paul II - Bridges for Humanity , published in October 2005 .
