Tessa - Leben für die Liebe is a German telenovela that was broadcast on ZDF from January 16 to August 16, 2006 .
background
Tessa - Leben für die Liebe was a commissioned production by ZDF, ORF and SF , the executive production company was Grundy UFA TV Produktions GmbH . The production took place from October 24, 2005 to May 31, 2006 in studios 8 and 9 of Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam , where the telenovela Bianca - Ways to Happiness was created. External locations were the Virchow-Klinikum campus in Berlin-Wedding and the Rosenhof stud in the Schäpe district of Beelitz . The chief authors of the series were Simone Schneider and Markus Steffl (Chapters 1–40), and Werner Lüder and Jochen Franke (Chapters 41–125).
Since Tessa - Leben für die Liebe was in strong competition with the telenovela Sturm der Liebe im Erste on the original slot at 3:10 p.m. , the telenovela reached far fewer viewers than hoped for. For this reason, the ZDF decided after two weeks to change the broadcasting slot. From January 30, 2006 it was broadcast at 2:10 p.m., and from February 13, 2006 at 2:15 p.m. In addition, the telenovela was renamed from Chapter 31 based on the telenovela Julia - Ways to Happiness in Tessa - Life for Love , which was also the working title.
Since the ratings remained at a comparatively low level, the broadcasting company and production company agreed to finish the telenovela earlier than planned. Instead of the planned 230 episodes, only 125 should be produced. As a final reaction to the failure of the telenovela, the slot was changed again. The ZDF showed Tessa - Life for Love from May 2, 2006 on only irregularly in the night program. In Switzerland and Austria, where the telenovela was very successful in contrast to Germany, the broadcast times did not change until the last episode.
On August 18, 2006 at 12:45 am, Chapter 125, the last episode of Tessa - Life for Love, was broadcast on ZDF.
action
The plot of the telenovela is set in the fictional German city of Torland . Tessa Thalbach lives with her father Stephan in the country, where she spent her free time with horses from childhood. The telenovela begins when the 24-year-old wants to venture into a new, independent life. She says goodbye to her father and moves out of home to build her own life in the big city. As soon as she arrives in Torland, she meets the young doctor Felix Kilian, with whom she immediately falls in love.
Through the diary of a friend who died unexpectedly, Tessa learns a secret about the Markland Clinic where Felix works. Senior Physician Dr. Marcel Borchert is said to have Tessa's acquaintances on his conscience because of illegal drug trials. For the unscrupulous doctor, Tessa becomes a great danger that he wants to get out of the way. But Tessa is also a thorn in the side of the clinic manager Tamara Dannenberg.
Again and again Tessa and Felix have to assert their love in front of schemers and envious people before they can get married in the end.
