Beat Marti
Beat Marti (born June 9, 1972 in Chur ) is an actor working in German-speaking countries . He has both Swiss and German citizenship.
Life
Beat Marti grew up in Chur and turned to acting after graduating from school. He completed his training at the University of Theater in Zurich . In 1995 he received the culture award of the canton of Graubünden. Marti established himself in Germany and Switzerland through several film and TV productions. His first feature film, I was a Swiss Banker , in which he played the leading role, had its world premiere in 2007 at the Berlinale . In 2008 Marti was nominated for this role for the Swiss Film Prize in the “Best Actor” category.
In 2019 he received the Swiss TV Film Award for “Best Supporting Actor” for his role in the Romansh fictional film Amzur senza fin .
In the theater he played at the Schauspielhaus Zurich , at the Neumarkt Theater in Zurich, Kampnagel in Hamburg and other theaters, directed by: Friederike Heller , Barbara Weber , Christiane Pohle , Anne Schneider , Corinna von Rad and Simone Blattner .
Beat Marti has lived in Berlin since 1998 and founded the Berlin acting agency LuckyPunch in 2009 with his wife Delia Marti . His brother is the incumbent Mayor of Chur, Urs Marti .
