action

First season

Summary

Suddenly nothing is right at all in the life of a privately and professionally happy wife and teacher Katja Stein. Her husband is cheating on her with her sister. She loses her unborn child and faces financial problems. The director of her new school, Alexander Fumetti, an ex-boyfriend from college days, is unhappy to have her at his school. The painful experience that her world was only apparently in order shakes the protagonist long-term, but does not prevent her from starting all over again. She draws strength for this from her job. She is a teacher with all her heart.

Action overview

In the first episode, Katja's husband Oliver has an affair with her sister Karola. Then she leaves him and he goes to France . As a result, Katja suffers a fit of weakness and a miscarriage.

The once happy couple has built a hotel that was primarily Oliver's dream. When he leaves, Katja wants to sell it. Her parents want to prevent this from happening at first because they do not understand why she would rather be a teacher than a hotel owner. She actually sells it and, after her father's breakdown, makes up with her sister too.

She now meets more often with Stefan Hagen, a former investment banker who now runs a horse farm.

When it becomes known that the school will be closed, the secretary, Mrs. von Ryben, wants to take her own life because she doesn't know what to do next. Katja stops her and talks to Director Fumetti. Katja has an idea how she could save the school: She suggests turning the Heinrich Heine School into a model project. In cooperation with Stefan Hagen's equestrian center, the pupils are to be given the opportunity to be taught riding in addition to normal school lessons. Stefan agrees and the teachers also stand behind Katja.

Director Fumetti thinks the idea is good, but when he informs the school council, they want to close the school despite the numerous new registrations.

Victoria, the trainee lawyer for geography and biology, has previously made Fumetti an offer to go to South Africa with her, but when he receives an offer to take the vacant job as a school administrator, he now has three offers to choose from.

Mrs. von Ryben alerts the staff and informs them of Fumetti's plans. Led by Katja, the crucial question arises: do we need fumetti?

Stefan goes to Italy with Katja's sister because she wants to exhibit some pictures there. When the two come back, Katja thinks they are having an affair, but they can quickly resolve the suspicion. Katja falls in love with Stefan and he gives her a foal as a token of his love.

Karola is pregnant. She is expecting a child from Katja's ex-husband Oliver, of all people. Katja is just as upset as Karola. Katja has lost her child and Karola doesn't want hers. When Karola wanted to leave for the agreed abortion appointment, she changed her mind at short notice. She wants to have the child after all, and Katja can gradually look forward to her role as aunt.

The “Riding in School” project is shaken by an accident. But the sister of one of Katja's students can convince the school board that the project can take place. This saved the school. After all, Mr. Fumetti will remain in Germany. When Victoria offers to stay in Germany if Fumetti marries her, the director refuses; then she leaves school at the end of the school year.

When a former business partner of Stefan comes and offers him to return to his old job, he hesitantly accepts. He is going to Shanghai for an initially temporary project. When he returns to Germany, he proposes to Katja. He wants her to accompany him to Shanghai for a year because he is supposed to take over a bank branch there. Katja wants to stay in Germany, but promises to visit him as often as possible.

At the school's final party, Fumetti announced his decision not to cooperate with the riding school with Stefan as a riding instructor, contrary to the contract, but to hire a different trainer and found a boarding school. The teachers are horrified, Stefan wants to sue Fumetti.

The sudden appearance of Oliver throws Karola off course in the truest sense of the word. She drives her car into a ditch and goes into labor. The baby is born healthy. Katja returns to the riding stables relieved and meets Stefan. He dropped the plane to Shanghai. For them, for their future together.

Second season

Summary

After the many turbulences that shook the life of the dedicated teacher Katja Stein (Julia Stemberger) in the first season, calm now seems to have returned. She lives with Stefan Hagen (Jochen Horst) on his idyllic horse farm in a picturesque corner of Brandenburg. Katja is supported by Renée (Petra Kleinert), who is her close friend and also an ally in the teaching staff. Thanks to Katja's courageous commitment to the school board, the continued existence of the Heinrich Heine School is ensured through the concept of “riding in school”. Although this poses unexpected challenges for headmaster Fumetti (David C. Bunners), it arouses great enthusiasm among the students.

However, the calm will soon be over. First, Katja's sister Karola (Katja Studt) becomes the school's new art teacher - and, ironically, the new lover of Rector Fumetti. Then Karola's son Clemens is hospitalized with life-threatening bleeding and the doctors' diagnosis shocked everyone ...
