Gabriele Herzog

Gabriele Herzog (born March 18, 1948 in Leipzig ) is a German writer , radio play and screenwriter .

She has a degree in theater studies and after graduating she worked as a dramaturge at the State Theater in Halle . From 1973 to 1990 she worked as a dramaturge and screenwriter in the DEFA studio for feature films, from 1991 to 2002 as a dramaturge, producer and author for private film production companies. She has been a freelance screenwriter since 2003 and lives in Stahnsdorf .

The publication of her novel No time for applause , of the courageous resistance against the demolition of Paulinerkirche describes at the Leipzig Karl Marx Square, was delayed in the GDR since its completion in 1984 again and again until he finally appeared in 1990 and in turn bustle no attention found. Most of the edition was probably destroyed.
