He is also an FDJ secretary and is mostly recognized by the rest of the class. His parents are heavily involved in their work. B. Operations director, so that he usually has to cope with everyday life alone. When Regine found out that she had difficulties with the subject matter, Frank took over the task of looking after her. In this context, he finds out that their problems are diverse. Her mother is currently in the hospital and she has to take care of her three smaller siblings. Despite having a housekeeper, she still has enough work to do. The mother is addicted to alcohol and the children each have a different father. Her current partner, also an alcoholic, but whom the mother does not want to do without, even beats Regine. When Frank realizes the whole context, he supports her with personal matters and with her schoolwork.

And he falls in love with her. To spend a weekend alone with her, he uses his parents' trip to Prague to take Regine to the weekend property. But since she has to take two of her siblings with her again, it will be an exciting time, caused by the children. The parents surprisingly come back a day earlier, discover that the keys to the house, including their son, are missing and immediately drive after. Here you will find the completely overtired couple and the sleeping children. The mother is very upset about it and the father sees it a little more calmly. The two catch up on the missed cohabitation one afternoon in Frank's apartment.

At school, Frank Regine defends where possible, but does not meet with understanding from his classmates. He is even beaten up by his classmates for this reason. Since Regine would like to become a kindergarten teacher, but cannot get an apprenticeship position because of her academic achievements, Frank wonders why this profession requires particularly good results in higher mathematics. He tries to clarify this question with the class leader and then puts an article about it on the student wall newspaper . After this article was removed by the headmistress , Frank uses a roll call for the pioneer organization's birthday to address the problem in front of the entire school. In a subsequent disciplinary discussion, the director expels the student from the room. Frank misunderstood this request and thinks he has been expelled from school. Now there is no turning back. He is even expelled from the FDJ. Even a list of signatures to support him, on which teachers have signed, can no longer turn the tide. Because of his father's good relationships, he has the opportunity to attend a special class at the TU Dresden . He now has to decide: the professional development or Regine, he decides for the first. When his father brought him to Dresden, he saw Regine working as a kitchen assistant, bringing boxes of bread to a kindergarten.
