Tulips from Amsterdam is a German TV film from 2010 .
action
The two sisters Anna and Lilli could hardly be more different. Anna Lechner lives as a flower wholesaler in Amsterdam and has found her dream man in the tulip grower Ed Verkerk. The only thing missing for happiness is a child together. Since it doesn't work out naturally, they both think of adoption . But she receives a devastating message from Munich. Her father Wenzel is in the hospital. She quickly travels to him and on his deathbed promises to take care of Lilli.
Lilli is the complete opposite of her sister. She is disabled. She has been dependent on greaves since a childhood car accident that left her mother dead. Not only did it destroy her confidence; her complexes also prevent her from taking care of the flower mail order business. But since Anna is staying in Munich for the time being, she helps her run the family business. But she behaves like a protector of Lillis, so that she quickly feels patronized. Tensions arise between the two.
Since Anna doesn't have the heart to leave Lilli alone, she also risks her relationship with her beloved Ed. Lili has no idea of this. She meets the doctor Lorenz, who tells her about a newly developed surgical method. Lilli may soon be able to walk properly again. Since he also gives her the feeling of being an attractive woman and not a pitiful disabled person, she is in seventh heaven. That in turn causes Anna's skepticism on the plan, because she fears that Lilli could be disappointed by false expectations. So she talks to Lorenz, which in turn is observed by Lilli, who believes that her sister wants to relax her husband.

Reviews
"Despite the serious foundation, a thoroughly cheerful family film that is about two completely different women who have to learn to go their own way."
“Director Ilse Hofmann, a specialist in family films and comedies, once again varies a topic that she had dealt with five years earlier in her genre work“ My sister and me ”: arguments between siblings. The not very original script was provided by Johannes Lackner [...] and Monika Peetz [...] Gesine Cukrowski and Chiara Schoras skillfully fill their roles with life, but this cannot save the heart-pain material. "
“Fate strikes as hard as it can, it doesn't get any more credible. [...] Wilted Story: These tulips smell musty "
