Life

Chiara Schoras is the daughter of an Italian and a German. She studied dance, singing and acting at the Centro di Danza Balletto di Roma . Her mentor Franco Miseria, the school's artistic director, recognized her diverse talents in all three performing arts and encouraged them. During her studies she was discovered by both German and Italian producers and played her first film roles immediately after graduation. In Germany it was the collaborations with directors like Peter Keglevic and Thorsten Näter that brought her to public attention, in Italy with Carola Spadoni.

In 1997, Schoras had her first full-length TV role in the Sat.1 TV series Alphateam for 60 episodes . She had herself photographed for Max magazine in May 1997, including a cover appearance.

Her breakthrough in film came in 2002 in Zoltan Spirandelli's cinema production Vaya con Dios , for which she also recorded the title song. Chiara Schoras' portrayal of a young woman who upsets both her own life and that of three monks was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize in the same year . This was followed by leading roles such as in the television crime series Countdown - The Hunt Begins and central characters in films by Carlo Rola, Francesco Nuti, Martin Gypkens and Peter Bogdanovich , in whose film The Cat's Meow she can be seen as the only German actress. She plays, dances and sings the tracks Ain't We Got Fun and I'm Just Wild About Harry (both 1921). Since 2015 she can be seen in the ARD crime series Der Bozen-Krimi in the leading role as Commissaria Sonja Schwarz .
