Martin Gypkens
Martin Gypkens (born July 11, 1969 in Bonn ) is a German film director and screenwriter.
After graduating from high school, Gypkens initially spent some time in the United States. After his return to Germany, he worked in Berlin as an interior propositioner for a number of feature films and series productions between 1992 and 1996 . From 1996 to 2002 he studied dramaturgy at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam .
He first directed the play Unidentified Body Parts and the True Nature of Love by Brad Fraser in Bonn in 1993 . During his studies he made three short films and was the author of several screenplays for television films. In 2003 his first feature film was made under the title We . There he describes the attitude towards life of a group of people in their twenties in Berlin. For him he was awarded the long film sponsorship award at the Max Ophüls Festival in the same year .
