occupation

Rico, Oskar und der Diebstahlstein is a German children's film by Neele Vollmar , which opened in German cinemas on April 28, 2016. The film is based on the book of the same name by Andreas Steinhöfel published by Carlsen Verlag in 2011 and is the continuation of Rico, Oskar and the Heartbreak  (2015).

action

Since the last adventure of Rico and Oskar, Oskar and his father Lars have also been living at Dieffenbachstrasse 93. Another friend, the bizarre neighbor Fitzke, dies and inherits his extensive stone collection, which is said to represent his entire legacy, to Rico. Rico hears intruders in the empty apartment of the deceased and later discovers that an important stone has been stolen. He and Oskar quickly discovered a trail that led them on a spontaneous trip to the Baltic Sea. There they even spy after a young gangster couple as far as the nudist beach, but in the end they return to Berlin without the missing stone. In an unexpected encounter with the thief, who actually wanted to steal a really valuable ruby, Rico agrees with her to return his stone.

background

The shooting of Rico, Oskar and the theft stone began on June 16, 2015 and took place until August 11, 2015 in Leipzig , Berlin and on the Baltic Sea .

Difference from the book

  • In contrast to the book, Julia is not Klara Bonhöffer's granddaughter, but her daughter. That is why her father Herbert (in the book Klara's son) does not exist at all.
  • Since the caretaker Mommsen does not exist in the films, Rico and Oskar find out about Julia through Ms. Dahling.
  • Since Berts was also not included in the films, Rico and Oskar do not face Justin with him, but with Mr. Kiesling and his boyfriend Tom (in the book Ulf Brauscher).

reception

The German Film and Media Assessment (FBW) gave the film a rating because “As always, this world is lovingly designed, the setting and equipment are absolutely consistent. But this time the cosmos of Rico and Oskar is expanded to include an exciting setting by the sea. And here, too, everything is right, including the great bizarre secondary characters, who are embodied by an ensemble of top-class actors who are always in a good mood, including this time Fahri Yardim , Friederike Kempter , Detlev Buck and Heike Makatsch . Tension and comedy always keep a good balance, and there are always touching moments, whether between Oskar and his father or the two best friends who now complement each other like butter and chocolate spread. ”Finally, it was said that the film was“ that The crowning glory of a children's and family film series that did everything right. Children's cinema cannot exude more fun or more charm ”.
