Neele Vollmar

Neele Leana Vollmar (born December 9, 1978 in Bremen ) is a German film director .

Life and career

Neele Leana Vollmar grew up in Stenum in Lower Saxony . After graduating from high school in 1998, she worked as an assistant director for various film productions. From 2000 to 2005 Vollmar studied at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg . During her training in 2003 she made the short film My Parents , which has since been shown at around 250 festivals around the world and has won numerous awards. Her graduation film from 2005, Urlaub vom Leben , was released in 2006 and won several awards. In 2008, Friedliche Zeiten followed the story of the same name by Birgit Vanderbeke , and in 2009 the film comedy Maria, he doesn't like it! based on the bestseller by Jan Weiler .

Neele Leana Vollmar founded the production company Royal Pony Film in Munich in 2006 with Caroline Daube . She is a member of the German Film Academy .
