Eleven-year-old Lotta Petermann and her best friend Cheyenne were not invited to the birthday party by their rich, conceited classmate Berenike, unlike the other classmates. The two friends make plans to be invited to the party after all. When Lotta saves a rabbit from a car, the driver of the car has to brake suddenly. The pop singer and teen idol Marlon sits in the vehicle. The two girls take a selfie with him, which they show to their classmate Berenike. If Lotta and Cheyenne manage to get Marlon to attend the party, they too would be invited. But Lotta and Cheyenne get into an argument.

The film was produced by the film production company Favoritenfilm, by Dagstar Film and in co-production by Senator Film Cologne . The shooting for the film took place in Leverkusen , Cologne , Bergisch Gladbach and Munich . 36 days of shooting were planned. The Wild Bunch film distribution brought the film to German cinemas on August 29, 2019. The film was seen by 148,405 cinema-goers up to September 29, 2019. The DVD release is announced for 2020.
