Laura Tonke
Laura Maori Tonke (born April 14, 1974 in West Berlin ) is a German actress .
Life
Laura Tonke is the daughter of the set designer Michael Tonke. She grew up in West Berlin and studied theater studies in Berlin until 1996. At the age of 17 she made her début in front of the camera in Michael Klier's feature film Ostkreuz . Numerous roles in feature films and television films followed. In addition, she is also booked as a model by scene and fashion magazines . Since spring 2007 she has also appeared in performance productions by the theater collective Gob Squad in the Berlin Volksbühne (or Volksbühne im Prater) and in other theaters.
In 2000 Tonke was awarded the Lilli Palmer memory camera as the best young actress. In 2003 she was nominated for the German Film Prize for her role as Gudrun Ensslin in Christopher Roth's feature film Baader .
In the tragic comedy Hedi Schneider is stuck by Sonja Heiss , which premiered at the Berlinale in 2015 , she plays the title character, who is plagued by sudden states of fear. For this she received rave reviews, for example Der Spiegel wrote : "She fills the role of Hedi Schneider [...] so convincingly and precisely, as if it were made for her."
At the ceremony of the German Film Prize in 2016 Tonke was awarded twice. She won both the “Best Female Leading Role” category for her role as Hedi Schneider and the award for the best female supporting role for the film defective copy (2016).
Laura Tonke has a son and lives in Berlin.
