Isidore Marie Joseph Dumortier
Isidore Marie Joseph Dumortier MEP (born April 6, 1869 in Halluin ; † February 16, 1940 ) was a Roman Catholic Bishop and Vicar Apostolic of Saigon .
Life
After joining the Paris Mission, Dumortier was ordained a priest on May 27, 1893 . On December 17, 1925 he was appointed titular bishop of Lipara and apostolic vicar of Saigon, a position he held until his death. He was ordained bishop on March 25, 1926, by the Apostolic Delegate in Indochina , Archbishop Constantino Ajutti (Aiutti); Co-consecrators were Bishop Damien Grangeon MEP, Vicar Apostolic of Quinhon , and Bishop Jean-Claude Bouchut MEP, Vicar Apostolic of Phnom-Penh .
He is buried in Saigon Cathedral.
