Golden Camera Young Talent Award
A young actor is honored with the Golden Camera Newcomer Award at the annual Golden Camera award ceremony . The award, a regular golden camera statuette, is endowed with prize money of 20,000 euros and is awarded by the expert jury, which changes every year. In contrast to the other actor awards, there is no public announcement of nominations. The identity of the award winner will only be announced during the Golden Camera award ceremony.

The award was originally given as the "Lilli Palmer Memory Camera" in 1989 retrospectively for achievements in the film and television year 1988 and only honored young actresses.
In 2003, in addition to Anneke Kim Sarnau's award as the best young actress, the “Curd-Jürgens memory camera” for young male actors was awarded to Matthias Schweighöfer for the first time . The two prizes were endowed with 10,000 euros each, half of them donated by Mercedes-Benz and Curd Jürgens' widow Margie Schmitz , who initiated the new award.
In the following year, both prizes were combined to form the “Lilli Palmer & Curd Juergens Memory Camera” and endowed with prize money of 20,000 euros. They were named in memory of the German-speaking actors Lilli Palmer (1914–1986) and Curd Jürgens (1915–1982). Since then, both female and male acting talents have competed for the award.
From 2013 to 2015 the award was called the “Hörzu Young Talent Award”. Since 2016 it has been awarded the “Golden Camera Young Talent Award”.
