Renan Demirkan
Renan Demirkan (born June 12, 1955 in Ankara , Turkey ) is a German writer and actress .
Life
Renan Demirkan came in 1962, the age of seven with her family to Hannover , where she first visited the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Realschule and later the Vocational School economy with the High School graduated. Until 1980 she studied acting in Hanover. This was followed by two-year stage engagements in Nuremberg , Dortmund and Cologne ; In addition to her other activities, she is still on stage today. Since 1981 she has also been doing solo programs and readings .
In 1982 she got her first role in a movie. She became known for her role in the Schimanski movie Tooth for a Tooth (1985). Since then she has mainly played in television films.
Her first novel was published in 1991 with black tea with three pieces of sugar . To date, four more books have followed. Demirkan also wrote for the stage.
Since the 1990s she has also acted as a moderator and laudator for events, including a. by Amnesty International and UNICEF . She is a member of the PEN Center Germany .
Demirkan was a member of the 12th Federal Assembly in 2004 and a member of the 16th Federal Assembly in 2017 . She was nominated by the SPD and represented the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
She is the mother of one daughter and lives in Windeck .
