The awarding of the Golden Camera in 1988 took place on 18 February 1989 at the publishing house of Axel Springer GmbH in Berlin instead. It was the 24th award of this award. The audience was welcomed by Peter Tamm , CEO of Axel Springer Verlag . Jan Hofer and Sabine Sauer were responsible for the awarding of the prizes and the moderation . About 500 guests attended the event. The ceremony was on February 18, 1989 at 22:15 in the ZDF broadcast. The readers chose their favorites in the Most Popular Sports Reporter category .
