The awarding of the Golden Camera in 1981 took place on 11 February 1982 at the publishing house of Axel Springer GmbH in Berlin instead. It was the 17th award of this award. The audience was welcomed by the publisher Axel Springer . Werner Veigel was responsible for the awarding of the prizes and the moderation . About 350 guests attended the event. The award was not televised. The readers voted for their favorites in the Best Athlete category .
