Tonight there was a talk show on Bavarian television in co-production with Südwestfunk , later also with Norddeutscher Rundfunk . The first issues of the series were presented by changing moderators. From December 2, 1980, Joachim Fuchsberger took on both the moderation and production through his company Greenwood Productions up to the 300th and final episode. The theme song was composed by Klaus Doldinger .
concept
In each issue, a guest asked a studio audience questions about his life's work to date. A few episodes had a motto and had several guests at the same time. The dark, partly reflective stage design with the enlarged signature of the celebrity, the simple seating for guest and moderator, and Joachim Fuchsberger's tobacco pipe developed as trademarks. In the first episodes, the program often ended with a musical performance by the guest. Over time, this element was dropped in favor of talk time.
running time
At the beginning, the series was broadcast exclusively in the third program of Bayerischer Rundfunk . From June 1980, the ARD took over individual issues in the main program and was given the attribute "The ARD talk show". From May 1983 until the last edition, the talk show was regularly broadcast there, first on Tuesdays, then permanently on Fridays and towards the end of the 1991 series on Wednesdays.
Since 2013, individual editions have been repeated in the night program on BR-alpha on the occasion of special birthdays or deaths .
Episode list
A total of 300 programs were broadcast from 1980 to 1991. On September 16, 1995, there was a one-off special broadcast to say goodbye to Wolf Feller , who was television director for Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1987 to 1995.

Trivia and Criticism
- As with every encounter between Liselotte Pulver and Joachim Fuchsberger, they laid each other on the ground with a shoulder throw.
- Due to Beatrice Richter’s unrestrained flow of speech and a fade-in of the director on Fuchsberger’s monitor, Fuchsberger left the stage completely unplanned and left the actress to moderate for a moment. Only after the perplexed artist asked, the moderator reappeared in front of the audience to laughter and applause.
- According to his own statements, an unnamed actor answered Fuchsberger's questions clearly incorrectly. This prompted the moderator, who otherwise appeared very relaxed, to inquire more energetically than usual.
- While the audience acceptance for the format was high, critics Joachim Fuchsberger and his show often accused the conversation of being too shallow and dubbed it a “switch-on”.
