Heidelinde Weis

Heidelinde Weis (born September 17, 1940 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian actress and singer .

Life

The daughter of a commercial employee attended a business school and at the age of 14 played the title role in an adaptation of the fairy tale Hans im Glück at the Austrian school theater . After her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna in 1957/58 (together with Erika Pluhar ) she was part of the permanent ensemble of the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna in 1959/60 . She made her cinema debut in 1959 in the film I will marry Mr. Director , in which she portrayed an ambitious stenographer.

Heidelinde Weis was married to the theater producer Hellmuth Duna from 1960 until his death in 1998 . Since then she has often toured with the Schaubühne. From 1962 to 1981 she gave guest performances at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm , in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and at the Theater in Brienner Straße in Munich. She was particularly successful in Colombe by Anouilh , but also as Isabella in Maß für Maß and Olivia in Was ihr wollt . At the Salzburg Festival she played Rosetta in Leonce and Lena in 1976 and the Countess in The Great Day or Figaro's Wedding in 1978 .

In 1964 she became known in the film industry with the role of the title heroine in Michael Pflegehar's Die Tote von Beverly Hills , after which she appeared in several episodes of the rascal stories film series based on Ludwig Thoma . She took on the title role in the historical film comedy Liselotte von der Pfalz .

At the end of the 1960s, she increasingly shifted her work to television, after having made her first television appearances in the role of daughter Gerda in the live series Familie Leitner on Austrian television during her acting training from 1958 and the title role in 1963 at the side of Claus Biederstaedt in the twenty-part television series Meine Frau Susanne played. She became better known in 1971 in the three-part WDR television film Die Frau in Weiß , the film adaptation of a Wilkie Collins novel in which she played the double role of Laura and the woman in white under the direction of Wilhelm Semmelroth .

Since the mid-1960s she has been successful with chansons , working with Kristian Schultze , among others . In 1975 she published her first long-playing record with the title So Sing ich sing , for which she was awarded the German Record Prize of the Phonoakademie Berlin. This was followed by the music albums I'm So Foolish (1976) and But I Had A Lot Of Dreams (1979). In 1983 she appeared in the Munich Lach- und Schießgesellschaft with the program songs about love or what one thinks it is . In addition, she was involved as a speaker in various radio play productions.

In addition to guest appearances in the series such as Der Kommissar , Der Alte , Derrick and Ein Fall für Zwei , she played in 1982 in the television production Die Erbin and in 1984 under the direction of Rolf von Sydow in Abgehört . In the television series Schwarzwaldklinik , she took on the role of doctor Dr. Elena Bach, who died in a car accident.

Due to the longstanding illness of her husband, who was cared for by her, she made herself very rare in the mid-1980s. After his death in 1998, in addition to series productions such as Das Traumschiff , Rosamunde-Pilcher and Utta-Danella films, she can also be seen more often in German-language television productions.

In 1998 she directed the play Next Year, at the same time as Heiner Lauterbach . Today she can be seen at boulevard theaters and on theater tours and lives in Carinthia.

In March 2016, it became known that Heidelinde Weis was suffering from bladder cancer . Her recovery was announced in August 2016.
