Christian Bavarian People's Party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Christian Bavarian People's Party (Bavarian Patriot Movement) (short name: CBV ) was a right-wing small party in Bavaria. This was founded in 1975 by a group of dissatisfied members of the Bavarian Party around Ludwig Volkholz , after the latter had failed in the election for state chairman. In December 1988 the CBV reintegrated into the Bavarian party. Between 1976 and 1987 the CBV took part in elections. However, she only achieved seats in the local elections in the district of Cham in 1978 and 1984 .

The party attracted attention through racist statements in an election commercial for the 1987 federal election . In it, the party leader Volkholz demanded, among other things, arms deliveries to the South African apartheid regime and demanded that the “eternal English Negro roar on radio and television” should stop and that “healthy folkism be promoted again”. This passage was also parodied in Rudi Carrell's daily show .
