Dorothea Macheiner

Dorothea Macheiner (* 21st March 1943 as Dorothea Hummelbrunner in Linz ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Dorothea Macheiner grew up in Steinbach am Attersee. She attended the Realgymnasium in Vöcklabruck and then studied theology and German in Salzburg and Innsbruck Magisters of Theology.

From 1978 to 1989 Dorothea Macheiner wrote ten radio plays that were broadcast in Germany and abroad. She received u. a. 1978 and 1989 a state scholarship for literature in Austria, 1985 and 2006 an annual scholarship from the Literar-Mechana , 1989 a Rome scholarship from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Art and Sport and in 1990 a scholarship from the city of Salzburg . Dorothea Macheiner lives as a freelance writer in Salzburg and Vienna.

She is the administrator of the literary estate of the East Tyrolean writer Gerold Foidl .

Dorothea Macheiner is a member of the Austrian PEN Club , the Austrian Writers 'Association (ÖSV) and the IG authors' authors .
