Insterburg & Co.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Insterburg & Co. was a German comedian band that had its original line-up from 1967 to 1979.

history

The band name is derived from the stage name Ingo Insterburgs († 2018). The other members were Karl Dall , Peter Ehlebracht and Jürgen Barz .

The Insterburg & Co. quartet cultivated the “art of higher nonsense” in the 1960s and 1970s and stood in line with Schobert and Black and Ulrich Roski . Occasionally they were referred to as "dumb bards". The program consisted of comical pieces of music and spontaneous stand-up comedy (although the term didn't even exist in Germany at the time). In the latter case, the four of them often poked one another. As a rule, they set their skits and songs to music using instruments that Ingo Insterburg had built himself, many of which consisted of converted kitchen, garden and other everyday utensils. During the performances, Karl Dall Ingo Insterburg often jokingly asked to "explain" the unusual instruments; he himself appeared as a parodist for Hans Albers .

In 1968 the quartet worked together with the Jacob Sisters in the movie Quartet in Bed (subtitles: Klatsch, Klatsch, Schenkelchen - Grandpa wants grandchildren ), the following year in Charley's Uncle and in 1973 in Chapeau Claque . The band made several appearances on the show Dalli Dalli and appeared frequently on the show Musikladen . Due to the fact that there were only three television programs in West Germany at the time ( ARD , ZDF and the third programs ), the band quickly became known to a wide audience. Their humor made them popular; Excerpts from the Musikladen shows are repeated to this day.

The band released numerous records that followed the same concept. In addition to albums with live or studio music, some sketch collections were published. A well-known piece by the group is I loved a girl from 1974, which was sung by Ingo Insterburg and stayed in the German single charts for four and a half months. When the group split in 1979, Dall embarked on a solo career as a singer , comedian , actor and television presenter .

Later formations

Ingo Insterburg put together a new band under the same band name, with which he completed several tours. Marian Majaran, Jupi Sirius and Georg Himmelblau belonged to her. In 1994 he broke up the band again.

2005 Ingo Insterburg and Karl Dall reappeared together as Insterburg & Co. on.

aftermath

In 1995 I loved a girl in Pankow was republished as a solo artist by Ingo Insterburg. A cover version of this song is Forever Always on the album 3 is ne Party by Fettes Brot from 2013, which also made it into the single charts.
