occupation

Quartett im Bett is a German comedy directed by Ulrich Schamoni from 1968 .

action

"Quartett im Bett" takes place in West Berlin in the summer of 1968. The attitude towards life of the time is shown using several musical quartet formations . The bums Ingo, Jürgen, Peter and Karl move through the backyards of Kreuzberg , where they fool around. They pass the time with joke poems and building instruments as well as with their mutual friend.

Opposite them, the four Saxon sisters Johanna, Rosemarie, Eva and Hannelore represent the glittering show business with their poodles . At the beginning of their Germany tour, they are even received in Schöneberg Town Hall . In the congress hall , the two dissimilar quartets appear together until the manager of the women separates them from the men.

The third quartet, also played by Insterburg & Co. , will be four Arab sheikhs who will be introduced to the official Berlin. However, they are particularly interested in the sex business, where they shop for the basket. At the end, they get back on their plane with speech bubbles announcing that they are Berliners .

criticism

“'Quartet in bed' - that is sheer nonsense, pure nonsense, complete, albeit delicious nonsense - perfectly presented. Director and author Ulrich Schamoni makes fun of Berlin and looks at 'his' Berlin - that's in Kreuzberg. "

“Music-obsessed pop film against the backdrop of West Berlin. Mild criticism of the times, which transfigures the bitter charm of the Berlin-Kreuzberg artist milieu with big city romance and sees everything through the friendly glasses of gentle irony: above all the attitude towards life of today's young people. Freely, but not speculative and therefore viewable from 18. "

“A musically interpreted picture of the time of West Berlin (1968), which turns the contrast between the established society and anti-bourgeois forms of life into an entertainment pleasure in a parade of cabaret and parodistic ideas. A film by Ulrich Schamoni with the Insterburg band. "

Awards

The Jacob Sisters and Insterburg & Co. received the Ernst Lubitsch Prize for their roles in the film in 1969 .
