Fritz Eckhardt (1947)

Fritz Eckhardt (born November 30, 1907 in Linz , †  December 31, 1995 in Klosterneuburg ) was an Austrian actor , author , singer , librettist and director .

Life

Fritz Eckhardt's mother was an actress; she died of fish poisoning at the age of 32 in 1916 , and her funeral took place on his 9th birthday. His father was the Jewish theater director Viktor Eckhardt , who was murdered in a concentration camp during the National Socialist era . Fritz Eckhardt made the decision to follow in his parents' footsteps in the world of film and theater as a young man. He graduated from the Academy for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . In 1924 he made his stage debut at the Vienna Volkstheater alongside Paula Wessely , Karl Paryla and Siegfried Breuer , who was one of his best friends. He played on stages in Germany and Austria. From 1939 he wrote anonymously for the Wiener Werkel , where pieces were performed with an astonishing degree of satirical criticism. It was the only Viennese cabaret in Austria during the National Socialist era . After 1945 he remained loyal to cabaret in Vienna (including the literary cabaret Der Liebe Augustin , founded by Stella Kadmon in the basement of Café Prückel , as well as the “Small Theater in the Konzerthaus”, called Das Kleine Brettl , founded by Rolf Olsen ). He later wrote numerous librettos , plays and scripts .

With the breakthrough of television he celebrated with series such as Der alten Richter (1969–1970, as an author) with Paul Hörbiger , Wenn der Vater mit dem Sohne (1971) (with Peter Weck and Michael Janisch ), Hallo - Hotel Sacher… Porter! (1973) (with Elfriede Ott , Josef Hendrichs , Ossy Kolmann , Marianne Schönauer , Maxi Böhm and many others) and his Tatort contributions (as Inspector Viktor Marek) were great successes. He stood out above all with his distinctive pun (see quotations).

Chief Inspector Marek was an independent crime series of the ORF even before the crime scene episodes , the first episode was broadcast in October 1963. Eckhardt also wrote the scripts for this series from the episode Girl Murder from 1967. Marek and his cases were then included in the Tatort series as a contribution from Austria . The first Tatort episode with Eckhardt was broadcast on November 7, 1971, 13 more followed by 1987, whose scripts were also written by him. Overall, Eckhardt appeared in thirty television productions as Marek, including in small guest roles, such as in the Kommissar episode Three Dead Travel to Vienna from 1970.

Fritz Eckhardt died on December 31, 1995 in Klosterneuburg from cancer. His grave is in the Upper City Cemetery in Klosterneuburg , where his wife Hildegard Eckhardt, born in 1987, was also located . Priebitzer , called Hilde, who worked as a dentist and had been married to him since August 4, 1945.

Fritz Eckhardt's adopted daughter is the German actress Irmgard Riessen .
