Michael Janisch

Michael Janisch (born July 21, 1927 in Vienna ; † November 29, 2004 there ) was an Austrian actor . His brother Peter Janisch was also an actor.

Life

Janisch received his acting training from 1943 at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . He started his career at the Salzburg State Theater .

From 1949 to 1987 he was a member of the Burgtheater , where he played roles from William Shakespeare to Arthur Schnitzler , but also from Franz Grillparzer and Ferdinand Raimund . When Claus Peymann took office , Janisch left the Burgtheater voluntarily.

In 1968 he was appointed chamber actor . He was also seen on many other German-speaking stages and at the Salzburg Festival .

In the television series Tatort he was Inspector Fichtl from 1984 next to Kurt Jaggberg as Chief Inspector Hirth and Bruno Dallansky as Chief Inspector Pfeifer , before he himself took over the lead of the investigation from 1989 to 1996. Then he played in two episodes in 1997 with the investigators Kant ( Wolfgang Hübsch ) and Varanasi ( Johannes Nikolussi ) the chief inspector Fichtl . He also stood in front of the camera and microphone in other television series and in the radio play studio. In 1955 he played a larger role as First Lieutenant Greifer in the film trilogy 08/15 (in the episode "In der Heimat"). In 1973 he had a supporting role in the Edgar Reitz film Die Reise nach Wien .

He died in the Vienna General Hospital of complications after a heart operation and is resting in Vienna's Südwestfriedhof (group 64, row 17, number 35).
