Kurt Jaggberg

Kurt Jaggberg (actually Kurt Jagersberger ; born November 10, 1922 in Wiener Neustadt , Lower Austria ; † December 27, 1999 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actor , screenwriter and director .

Life

The 1948 study theater arts for Dr. phil. Jaggberg first completed the Reinhardt seminar in the subjects of acting and directing and began acting as an actor in several stages in Vienna in 1951, including the Volkstheater and the Theater in der Josefstadt , in Berlin ( Freie Volksbühne , Hebbel-Theater and Theater am Kurfürstendamm ) and at the Schauspielhaus Zurich . In 1956 Jaggberg was also a member of the legendary Viennese cabaret group around Helmut Qualtinger , Carl Merz and Gerhard Bronner , now known as the Nameless Ensemble , and played in the program Blattl vorm Mund in the Intimate Theater .

Already working as a radio editor in 1950, Jaggberg also occupied himself with many roles in film from 1952 and a little later on television, where he was also used as an author and director. Jaggberg owes his widespread popularity to his participation in numerous crime series, such as Stahlnetz (episode: Das Haus an der Stör ), Der Kommissar , Derrick and above all in Tatort - as district inspector Wirz, the assistant to Inspector Marek (played by Fritz Eckhardt ) and from 1983 as independent chief inspector Hirth. His last stage role was that of the police director in Morals by Ludwig Thoma at Felix Dvorak's Berndorfer Festival . He was also often active as a spokesman for TV documentaries, such as in the everyday story of Elizabeth T. Spira . Kurt Jaggberg died of Alzheimer's disease in a nursing home after a long illness . His grave is in the Kagran cemetery (group C, number 175).

An obituary (excerpt from the Vienna daily Der Standard of December 30, 1999) states:

(In his game) ... rudeness and sensitivity flowed together to that delicate Viennese mixture of souls, in which the great contradictions of the world are amiably softened as small inadequacies. "
