The fast Gerdi is a twelve-part German television series by Michael Verhoeven on behalf of ZDF with six episodes from 1989 and another six episodes from 2002. Senta Berger plays the title role . The series was produced by Sentana Filmproduktion.

The series is about the everyday life of the lovable, charismatic Munich taxi driver Gerdi, who struggles through life as a divorced mid-forties. Gerdi is self-confident and stubborn and does not hold back with her opinion.

  • 1st heroine of the day

On a taxi ride to Garmisch , Gerdi Angerpointner met the younger Herbert Brot, who lived with his grandmother and from hand to mouth. She is fascinated by his boyish charm; But the following relationship between the two turns out to be problematic, not least because of the less tolerant environment.

  • 2. Mother's Day

Gerdi barely escapes rape while driving at night. On Mother's Day, she goes on a trip to Neuschwanstein with her family . The situation is tense as both her new boyfriend and her divorced husband Rudi are there. Gerdi indulges in childhood memories.

  • 3rd Oktoberfest

During the Oktoberfest, there is a boom for Gerdi. The famous but depressed actor Christian Sorbas becomes their regular guest, they become friends. The relationship with Herbert is more difficult than ever. Eventually Gerdi has to find out that Sorbas has committed suicide, which is very upsetting for Gerdi. She then reconciles with Herbert, with whom there had once again been a falling out.

  • 4. Gerdi starts a family

Because of his driving license withdrawal, Gerdi has to work temporarily in the taxi office. She also has fears of being pregnant. However, the test is negative, which makes her both relieved and disappointed.

  • 5. Happy New Year

Gerdi spends Christmas alone with her mother. She wants to celebrate in a large group on New Year's Eve. After the initial harmony, the evening ends in front of the TV, whereupon Gerdi leaves the apartment angrily.

  • 6. Miss Miramare

Herbert leaves Gerdi, her daughter Jennifer breaks off her medical studies, her dog Tinka dies. Gerdi then goes to Jesolo , where she spent a happy holiday many years ago and won a beauty contest as Miss Miramare . She hopes to find her courage there again.

  • 1. Berlin, I'm coming!

Gerdi Angerpointner is a resolute but consistently good-natured taxi driver in Munich. Her driving style earned her the nickname “The Fast Gerdi” among colleagues. She promptly overlooks a warning sign and causes a total write-off on her car , which leads to hospitalization and criminal proceedings. Unfortunately, she recently canceled her fully comprehensive insurance and is now facing financial ruin.

  • 2. The Munich Connection

Gerdi has since moved to Berlin. Before she can take her taxi exam here, she keeps her head above water with odd jobs. But Gerdi, who is used to being her own boss, is always offensive.

  • 3. Gerdi gets to the dog

Gerdi passes the taxi exam and can also get a car cheaply. However, there is a lot of trouble with the new customers: She gets an unusually large amount of tips from a neo-Nazi just because she is German. Gerdi returns the money with unequivocal words.
