Werner Sobotka

Werner Sobotka (born May 17, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , cabaret artist and director . He is the son of the Austrian actor, cabaret artist, director and author Kurt Sobotka .

Live and act

After graduating from the Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium Franz-Keim-Gasse and completing his training at the Krauss drama school, Sobotka graduated from the musical studio in the Theater an der Wien . He also took private acting lessons from Herwig Seeböck .

In 1981 he founded the Austrian cabaret group Die Hectiker with his school colleagues Mini Bydlinski , Wolfgang Pissecker and Florian Scheuba , with whom he has performed numerous programs, tours and TV shows, and has released CDs.

Since 1993 Sobotka has directed many times at the Simpl cabaret in Vienna. Most recently he drew there as a director for the successful production Krawutzi Kaputzi! - Strictest youth ban responsible.

In the 2008/09 season he worked as a stage actor in the comedy Der Gast im Theater in der Josefstadt . He also directs the play Im Weißen Rössl in the Wiener Kammerspiele , where his father Kurt Sobotka plays the role of Emperor Franz Joseph . Since January 2009 Wolfgang Pissecker from the hectic people has been performing his first solo cabaret “I know you! - Who are you? Experiences from the Way of St. James ” , in which Sobotka also acts as a director.

Sobotka was awarded the Romy TV Prize in 1997 for the television series The Sick Sisters and the German Musical Image Award for the musical Blondel .
