Bodelschwingh Study Foundation

The Bodelschwingh-Studienstiftung is an independent organization within the Evangelical Church that offers theological and practical training and further education for full-time and voluntary employees of the Church and its communities. One focus of the work is on supporting theology students.

It was founded on June 22, 1981 as "Academic Foundation, No other gospel '" by the Federal Working Group of Evangelical embossed Confessing Movement "No other gospel" . Approval by the Ministry of the Interior in North Rhine-Westphalia took place on October 7, 1981. a. Gerhard Maier and Walter Künneth . The name change to "Bodelschwingh-Studienstiftung" took place on November 14, 1998.

The foundation's activities are divided into three areas:

  • The "Working Group on Spiritual Orientation Aid in Theology Studies " (AgO), founded in 1985, wants to support and network offers for theology students at theological faculties - so-called "theocircles" - which are accompanying their studies . In addition, he organizes the annual “Marburg Conference” and annual theological free time in Moscia (Ticino, Switzerland). Its written organs are the theological journal “ichthys” ( ISSN  1861-8065 ) and the associated theological book series “Edition Ichthys”.
  • The "College for Community Service" is a training program for volunteers in communities and communities. Its aim is to promote cooperation and responsibility among non-theologians in the church.

The foundation does not finance its work primarily from the proceeds of the foundation's capital, but mainly from donations.
