Lydie Auvray (* 1956 in Langrune-sur-Mer in the Calvados department in Normandy) is a French accordionist, singer and founder of the Auvrettes . Their musical use led to a popular revival of accordion playing. Auvray lives in Cologne .

Private

Lydie Auvray spent her childhood and school days in Caen in Normandy . After graduating from high school, she moved to Berlin in 1974 to improve her German. In 1993 she married the Martinique man Franck Picot and gave birth to their daughter Cannelle. The marriage was divorced in 2009.

Musical development

Her first public appearances took place in Berlin clubs as a song accompanist for Jürgen Slopianka (1976). She toured with him through West Germany and began a collaboration with Thommie Bayer (1977), she worked with Klaus Hoffmann on the LP Westend and completed two indoor tours with him (1979), which resulted in Klaus Hoffmann's live double album Ein Konzert . She works with Hannes Wader on his LP Es ist An der Zeit (1980) and went on tours with him (1982).

She released her first own LP premiere and appeared as a soloist in radio and television programs in both Germany and Denmark. This was followed by the formation of her own band, the Auvrettes , with whom she went on tour (1982). She made further appearances with Hannes Wader in Helsinki, Moscow and Paris and it was her second LP Paradiso (1983). After a 45-minute feature on ARD under the title Das Haus in der Normandie , she began working with the clown Pic . Her third album Ensemble (1985) and the fourth LP D'accord , which was produced by her friend Stefan Stoppok (1987) , came about . Several trips to Martinique brought new musical influences to Lydie's oeuvre (1988). She worked on various productions, such as Stephan Remmler's title Lotto , Peter Maffay's LP Lange Schatten and Senta Berger's album Wir wird haben , as well as Reinhard Mey and his album Immer weiter (1994). Together with the string quartet Indigo she recorded the CD Tango Toujours and went on tour with them (2003). Auvray worked on the Rilke project (2003, Vol. 3) and on the NOX project by Gerd Köster and Dirk Raulf . In 2004 her first solo album Pure was released . She participated in numerous television programs on WDR , Radio Bremen and Bavarian Radio .
