Arno Steffen (born August 28, 1953 in Cologne ) is a German musician , composer and music producer .

Life

Steffen's first (student) band was called Stellar Overdrive (1970). This was followed by Jennifer (1977) and Suiciyde Ampheta (1977/78). This resulted in the Zeltinger Band (1979).

“I knew him from the street. At that time, Zeltinger was always on the move as a forced recruiter. He had a band and whoever he liked was forced to play with him. It was said: 'From tomorrow you will play in my band, otherwise there will be trouble'. "

After Zeltinger, Steffen played for Triumvirate .

In 1983 Steffen's solo single Supergut, ne and the album Schlager were released . For the former guitarist, this work was unusual because it was created entirely with the Fairlight CMI , the first commercially available sampler . It is one of the very first sampler-only records in the world.

From this sampler work, Steffen developed art and music performances for the Goethe Institute , Around The Globe and Westworld with Dieter Moebius ( Cluster ) and Conny Plank, among others . This was followed by film scores, including for Tatort and The Miracle of Lengede .

Steffen produced several Cologne samplers with Jürgen Klauke . His last band project was LSE
