Dieter Gackstetter

Dieter Gackstetter (born September 23, 1939 in Erlangen ; † May 19, 2017 there ) was a German director , theater director , choreographer and actor .

Gackstetter became known as one of the directors of the TV series Stahlkammer Zürich . As a choreographer he worked on the Fassbinder films Lili Marleen , Lola and Querelle and the British thriller The 4 1/2 Billion Dollar Contract by John Frankenheimer . From 1973 to 1978 he was ballet director at the Bavarian State Opera , from 2001 to 2007 director of the Coburg State Theater . With Maria Pinzl he wrote the book Ballet and Dance Theater (1990), in 2003 he published 175 years of the Coburg State Theater as a multimedia tour on CD-ROM.
