Otto Brusatti
Otto Brusatti (born June 29, 1948 in Zell am See ) is an Austrian radio presenter and musicologist . He has also made a name for himself as an author , director and exhibition organizer .
Life
Otto Brusatti grew up in Baden near Vienna . The son of a couple of professors wanted to start a university career. He studied musicology , history and philosophy and worked in Germany for the WDR . At the beginning of the 1980s he returned to ORF and began to moderate the morning program Pasticcio on Ö1 , which he still does today. He was also a regular host of the Saturday cultural program Klassik-Treffpunkt , where he usually invited theater people or classical musicians to the Radiokulturcafé in Argentinierstraße and had them present their favorite music as part of a portrait. There is always a riddle for the listeners included in the broadcast. Brusatti organized his last classic meeting point on September 9, 2017.
Brusatti always moderates his programs live without taking notes and tries to confront his guests with unconventional questions. He also moderates the programs Apropos classical and key , presents EBU live concerts, designs large-scale programs and tries to familiarize his audience with classical music. His first major project was a spoken opera with Will Quadflieg based on Gustav Mahler's Third Symphony .
In 1975, with the protection of the later suspended collection manager Ernst Hilmar, he was employed in the music collection of the then Vienna City and State Library , where he helped to organize exhibitions on composers such as Schubert and Mozart , but often took leave of absence for his various non-professional projects. Brusatti also taught Comparative Aesthetics at the University of Vienna for several years and worked at the Vienna Burgtheater . He publishes popular science books as well as fiction , poetry and audio plays. He directed ORF productions for the Mozart and Sigmund Freud years. At opera! He directed Friederike Mayröcker , the ORF radio play of the year 2017 .
Brusatti has been retired since 2008.
