Nazr Tahiru Mohammed (born September 5, 1977 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 1998 to 2015 . At a size of 2.08 meters, it was mainly used in the center .

The son of Ghanaian immigrants initially played three years for the University of Kentucky , with which he won the college championship in 1996 and 1998.

In the NBA he played for eight different teams: Philadelphia 76ers (1998-2001), Atlanta Hawks (2001-2003), New York Knicks (2003-2004), San Antonio Spurs (2004-2006), Detroit Pistons (2006-2008 ), Charlotte Bobcats (2008–2011), the Oklahoma City Thunder (2011–2012), 2012–2015 for the Chicago Bulls and again in 2016 for the Thunder.

NBA career

Mohammed was selected in the 1998 NBA Draft in 29th place by the Utah Jazz and transferred directly to the Philadelphia 76ers .

He had his breakthrough in the NBA with his move to the Hawks in 2001, where he became a regular for the Hawks. In the 2004/05 season Mohammed was able to win the NBA championship with the Spurs.

When he moved to Oklahoma City in 2011, his gaming shares fell; Due to his age, he only came to sporadic missions. After one year in Oklahoma, he moved to the Chicago Bulls in July 2012 , where he was active for three seasons. On October 9, 2015, Mohammed announced his retirement from professional sport.

In March 2016, he reversed his decision and signed a contract with Thunder until the end of the season. In his last season he made five short appearances in the regular season and in the 2016 NBA playoffs.

In 1,005 NBA games (excluding playoffs), Mohammed averaged 5.8 points and 4.7 rebounds.
