The Klassik-Treffpunkt has been broadcast weekly by Ö1 since 1992 . The radio show, which is alternately presented by Otto Brusatti and Renate Burtscher every Saturday (with a summer break) , is one of the few live programs on Ö1. In front of the music editor Renate Burtscher, the ORF cultural director Dr. Haide Tenner the show.

The broadcasts take place free of charge in front of an audience in the radio café in the Funkhaus on Argentinierstrasse. Before the Radiokulturhaus opened , the broadcasts took place in the Virgin Megastore on Vienna's Mariahilfer Strasse . At that time the show was also moderated by Karl Löbl . As in a panel discussion, the moderator has one or more guests who can answer questions in an interview, usually in a relaxed, conversational tone. In between, pieces of music selected by the moderator or brought by the respective guest or desired are played. The music not only relates to pure classical music , but also swings into pop and rock music as well as so-called " new folk music ". Guests are mainly musicians, stars of the Vienna opera houses, but also film and theater directors, actors and cabaret artists. A fixed component of every issue is a quiz with a short audio piece towards the end of broadcasting time, which is linked to the “CD of the week”, which the winner can also win as a prize.
