Hannes Obermaier alias Hunter (born June 12, 1923 - December 15, 1990 in Munich ) was a German tabloid journalist. He is considered the first and most successful “gossip” columnist in Germany.

Life

The railroader's son Obermaier had studied law for eight semesters and brought with him the idea of ​​the society column from a long stay in America. For the Münchner Abendzeitung (AZ) he wrote his regular column "Hunter notiert" since 1952. According to his own admission, he wrote for up to 40 sheets during his most successful period. In Munich he organized several balls a year, such as the carnival ball "Hunters battue". In 1970 Obermaier switched to Bild . He also worked for the Bunte . Hunter is considered a role model for the society reporter Baby Schimmerlos from the TV series Kir Royal , next to his successor at AZ Michael Graeter , as well as the reporters Almut Hauenschild, Paul Sahner and Franz Hug.
