Josef Göhlen (born December 7, 1931 ) is a German children's book author and television and film producer .

Career

Göhlen first studied German language and literature, history and philosophy and then worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk , including broadcasts on the “ Augsburger Puppenkiste ”. He has published two books: Bill Bo and his six cronies (1968 in Hoch-Verlag) and the 1969 follow-up volume Bill Bo and the mysterious riders .

From 1963 to 1970 he worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk, for which he initiated and produced several successful productions for the Augsburger Puppenkiste, including the Urmel series, Der Löwe ist los or Kater Mikesch . In addition, well-known Real children's series such as Pippi Longstocking can be traced back to his initiative.

From 1973 to 1995 Göhlen worked for ZDF . As head of the local children and youth program, he initiated the animation of Maya the Bee and her adventures by Waldemar Bonsels in the anime television series Maya the Bee . His industry-internal nickname "Insekten-Jupp" is based on this achievement. Previously, Göhlen had initiated the implementation of the children's book series about the Viking boy Wickie by Runer Jonsson in the anime series Wickie and the strong men . His children's book Bill Bo and his six cronies is the template for the four-part puppet film by the Augsburger Puppenkiste Bill Bo and his cronies, which was first broadcast on ARD in 1968, and for the Audible original radio play Bill Bo and his gang, produced by Audible and bumm film in 2018 .

Josef Göhlen was a member of the Board of Trustees for Young German Films for twelve years .
