Kli-Kla-Klawitter (Austria: The Bright Red Autobus ) was a children's TV series that was broadcast in 52 episodes from 1974 to 1976. In 2005, some episodes were repeated on Premiere Pay TV. Originally, the series should also be broadcast in Germany under the title The bright red bus . However , since a very popular series entitled ' Das feuerrote Spielmobil ' has been running in children's television programs on Bavarian television and ARD since 1972 and there was therefore a risk of confusion, the series was renamed Kli-Kla-Klawitter in the pilot phase in Germany , while in Austria the original titleThe bright red bus kept.

The episodes have been repeated on Junior (Sky) since August 2010 .

The name 'Kli-Kla-Klawitter' comes from the initial syllables of the three main characters:

  • the clever rabbit Klicker
  • the inventive dog clothes
  • the friendly turtle Elvira Klawitter

The three puppets - they came from the workshop of the Augsburger Puppenkiste - formed the framework story in dialogue with the moderator ( Wolfgang Jansen , later Peter Millowitsch and others). In between there were animation stories and real films.
In 1976, after the shooting was completed, the puppets disappeared and were considered lost. In 2007, the dolls were rediscovered in a house in Ottobrunn , Bavaria , restored and returned to the Augsburger Puppenkiste.

Regular live action films include:

  • Playing preschool children, with simple plot. Often on or in the red bus.
  • Stories with the little boy spoon ( Thomas Ohrner ) and his family.
  • Max, the kangaroo who plays with one or more letters pronounced off-screen
  • The kneading figure twins Teddy and Freddy (girl and boy)
  • Plasticine figures The wild men in stop-motion animation ; without text, with instrumental music. With Tiny (yellow), Dorkey (orange), Whiz (gray) and Clutch (blue).
  • Finger animal puppets mouse and snail , where the mouse is also called finger mouse. With many other animals. All spoken and played by Erich Ebert .
  • The clowns August ( Herbert Mensching ) and Augustin (doll, played by Erich Ebert )
  • The thumb birds, various animated animals.

In the cartoon opening credits, Klicker drives the bus, Elvira sits knitting a long scarf on the roof and clothes hang on the back of the bus with roller skates.

The title song (alternatively: "in the bright red bus"):

Take a ride on the Kli-Kla-Klawitter bus!
We have a lot of space
for dogs and cats and sparrows.
Everyone fits in with us,
whether big - whether small.
We want to laugh, learn, read, write, do the math almost until ten!
We want to look closely at streets, cities, countries, people!
Take a ride on the Kli-Kla-Klawitter bus!
We have a lot of space
for dogs and cats and sparrows.
Everyone fits in with us,
whether big - whether small.
Yes, whether inside, outside, above, below - you learn everything here!
We hear of names, words, numbers, signs and of humans and animals!
Take a ride - in the Kli-Kla-Klawitter bus!
Take a ride on the Kli-Kla-Klawitter bus!
We have a lot of space
for dogs and cats and sparrows.
Everyone fits in with us,
whether big - whether small.

was composed by Christian Bruhn and written by Andrea Wagner.

The second very well-known song " Hopsen, Hüpfen, Springen und Toben" with the ABC at the beginning was sung in the early episodes by Peter Kraus , later by Tina York and Mary Roos, partially jumping on a trampoline.

Director of the series was Imo Moszkowicz .
