Ernst Ammann (set designer)

Ernst Ammann (born October 11, 1928 in Augsburg ; † January 1, 1982 ) was a German set designer and actor .

Life

Ammann studied set design in Munich . He found his first job as an assistant set designer at the State Theater in Stuttgart . From 1958 he worked as a set designer at the State Theater in Tübingen . Only after moving to the Reutlinger Theater did he turn to acting, where he played mostly comic roles. Another stage in the theater was Ulm, where he appeared both as an actor and as a head of equipment.

Ammann became known to a wide audience through his work for the Augsburger Puppenkiste . For this he not only designed the television equipment, but also lent his voice to numerous characters. For example, he spoke "Schusch den Schuhschnabel" in Urmel from the ice , the "Red Heini" in Bill Bo and his cronies , the "Klamotte" in Kli-Kla-Klawitter and the angry meerkat "Querro" in Little King Kalle Wirsch .

Ernst Ammann died on New Year's Day 1982 after a long and serious illness.
