action

The plot has been broken down into 13 sections:

The wise men of Schilda

Schilda, 1622: Schilda is a quiet town that has no men. The female population is becoming more and more angry, because apart from the town clerk, the pastor and the gatekeeper, there is no longer any male population anywhere. Something has to change!

How the shield citizens build a town hall

The men of Schilda are back, and that means a government must be here. So they decide to build a town hall. If only someone had thought that actually every house also has windows ...

The brine

The salt is an important spice. But the salt is becoming too expensive for the people of the shield. So they decide to "grow" salt themselves. They are looking forward to their tasty salt soup. But what comes out is less tasty ...

From swineherd to mayor

The councilors of Schilda have decided that a mayor has to be here. The swineherd Georg Christian Tröltsch stands for election ...

The visit of the emperor

The town clerk of Schilda wrote the year 1624 when an emissary from Emperor Ferdinand came to Schilda to report that his Majesty would pay Schilda a visit. But the reception is anything but good: The people of the shield receive the emperor on hobby horses and mustard is less suitable as a gift for an emperor ...

A fur for the mayor's wife

The rumor mill is simmering again: Josephine Tröltsch, wife of the mayor, wants a fur coat. Allegedly, her husband claimed money from the community treasury for this. And a popular uprising breaks out ...

When a shield citizen loses his head

Dionys Bellows is a journeyman potter and wants to join the Schilda city council. But for that he has to do something special. A tree is in a very bad position near the river and he wants to replant it. If that works out?

The big sausage

There is war time across the country. And the population has just suffered the loss of a cow. The shield citizens therefore decide to make a long sausage for bad times. But the sausage is in the way everywhere ...

Where a shield citizen has the heart

The young Sixt Ölhafen is in love with the daughter of the fur trader Winter. He wants to marry her. But for that he has to pass a tough test ...

The sunk bell

As there was war time, the city council decided to hide the bell on the church tower. But the river is not the right place ...

The stranger with the scissors

One day a strange stranger ventures to Schilda. The bourgeoisie brood. He has two scissors, he can pinch ...

Dreams of a shield citizen

After the loss, Apollonia Bellows longs for a new love. She shows this by walking on rooftops sleeping at night ...

The mouse dog

A stranger with a strange animal comes to Schilda. The animal eats mice all the time, and since the mouse plague has gotten worse, the shield citizens are wondering whether they could use such an animal ...

media

The production company Telefilm Saar GmbH could no longer find the 35 mm film tapes in their archive. The archive still contained a copy of the image material on 16 mm narrow film tape, but without sound. VPS, a VHS label from Munich, found a VTR copy in poor image quality, but with good sound. In 2009 SAD Home Entertainment released the DVD of the same name with all 13 episodes. The episodes are spread over two DVDs.
