Margot Schellemann
Margot Schellemann , née Kratzsch , (* July 21, 1930 - January 21, 2012 ) was a German puppeteer , speaker and film editor . She gained fame through her long-term work with the Augsburger Puppenkiste .
Life
Born as Margot Kratzsch , she first studied philosophy after graduating from high school . In order to earn some extra money for her studies in 1950, she applied to the Augsburger Puppenkiste as a speaker. Walter Oehmichen was so enthusiastic about her that he soon accepted her into the ensemble and she led her first doll. Schellemann proved to be a very good puppeteer and gifted speaker, so that she quickly took over leading roles. Initially, people spoke live in the puppet box, later the ensemble led the puppets to a previously made radio play . In the recording for the play How the Donkey Searched for Christ Child , Margot Schellemann lent her voice to six different characters. She also took care of the choreography of the puppets .
She became known throughout Germany through the television productions of the Puppenkiste. She ran the Urmel , Kater Mikesch and Lukas the locomotive driver , among others . In the most successful production of the Puppenkiste, Urmel aus dem Eis , she gave her voice to Ping Pinguin .
Occasionally, she also appeared as an actress , for example in the museum rats or as a petty singer in the dancing bear fairy tale.
In addition, from 1962 she worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk as a film editor. Starting with the television series Der Löwe ist los , she took over the editing of almost all television films in the Augsburger Puppenkiste until she retired in 1990 .
Margot Schellemann left the ensemble in 1990, but stayed with the Puppenkiste for a few years as a speaker. She was married to Walter Schellemann († 2008), also a member of the Augsburger Puppenkiste ensemble . Schellemann died on January 21, 2012 at the age of 81. She rests in a family grave in Neusäß.
