The cold heart is a German puppet show from the Augsburger Puppenkiste from 1978. It is based on the fairy tale of the same name by Wilhelm Hauff .

The young charcoal burner Peter Munk is a poor man. He burns charcoal every day and earns little money. He was born on a Sunday. In the Black Forest this means that he can go to the glass man. The glass man is a magical creature. When Munk goes there, he has three wishes. His wishes come true, but not for his good. Then he makes a pact with the evil Dutchman Michel . He promises to fulfill all his wishes if Peter gives him his heart .

  • The selected book by Wilhelm Hauff was adapted by Manfred Jenning . The piece was performed on December 14, 1977. The Hessischer Rundfunk showed interest and filmed the game a year later. In the television production, Manfred Jenning sits on the stage and tells a short story. After the narration, the play started.
  • This was one of the last productions by the house author Manfred Jenning, who died a year later.
