Katzen mit Hut is a German puppet game by the Augsburger Puppenkiste based on the novel of the same name by Simon and Desi Ruge . Directed by Sepp Strubel .

action

The plot is divided into four independent chapters, each 23 to 30 minutes long:

Prune Avenue 17

Although the hat cat actually wanted to go to Hamburg , her train ends in the small town of Stackeln an der Kruke . There she quickly moves into the house on Backpflaumenallee at number 17, whose landlord is the grumpy brewery director Maulwisch. Despite Maulwisch's initial warning, the cat takes eight animals into the house cat without paying rent :

  • Marianne Dudel, a baguette chicken
  • Captain Knaak, a seafaring dog
  • Hundred feet, a light- shy hundred feet
  • Puddingbrumsel, an insect with a thing for pudding
  • Zappergeck, a cheeky reptile
  • Baby Hübner, a music pig with little talent
  • Stumbling Bird, a stork-like bird
  • Llama, a sleepy llama

The great commotion

Maulwisch threatens the cat to kick her and the rest of the house out of the house if the rent is not paid. Although the cat is now doing a regular job, the money is not enough to cover the running costs. When Maulwisch announced himself again in order to collect the rent due, the house residents tried to give him a particularly pleasant welcome and stay, which, however, failed thoroughly. Nevertheless, Maulwisch can ultimately be softened by the cat's tears and continues to grant the house community rent-free right to live.

Treasure in the basement

The cat has a new job. She is reading to an old lady. One book speaks of a treasure in the cellar. The cat suggests looking for treasure yourself. The Erbsensteins provide the treasure hunt engine they need, with which they undermine the city every day. You will only find old kettles, buttons and the like. But one day they find a gold ring with Mimi engraved on it. They also track down the lady Mimi and give it back to her. To do this, she sews them new suits. The machine is broken and therefore remains in Mimi's garden as a scarecrow .

The naturalists

One day two naturalists come to the cat. They want to interview the hundred feet and take pictures of him. When they do this with the centre's permission, the other residents of the house also want to be photographed. The result is a group photo, but nobody is happy with it. The cat decides to keep the researchers in the house with Knaak's help. With the help of tobacco crumbs and luminous paint, they trick the researchers into alleged luminous moths in the attic. But the dizziness is finally revealed and the researchers leave again.

Reviews

“The 'cat with a hat' is a children's film series by the Augsburger Puppenkiste and is recommended for the younger generation and the whole family. Lovingly staged and child-friendly. "

"The bizarre story with its many weird protagonists is already suitable for very small viewers, but also inspires adult doll box fans."
