Five on the apple star

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Five on the Apple Star was filmed in 1981 by the Augsburger Puppenkiste as a marionette piece in four episodes of half an hour each. The script and the direction are from Sepp Strubel , who also published the material as a children's book.

action

The story begins on a ship where a sailor named Old Heiko has carved a box. This box went overboard when the sailor had just fallen asleep and so the wooden box drifted through the sea for a long time. By chance the box came into space on an underwater rocket and so on the apple star - which is not a star at all, but a planet .

The box pops up and the contents become visible. In addition to a telescope and a clock hand, there are also four dolls and a puffer fish . The five, the sailor Heiko Zweilinks-Zweirechts, the porcelain doll Ria from Rio , the Matryoshka doll from Grusinien , Chinaboy and the puffer fish set off to explore the planet. On their expedition they quickly encounter the inhabitants of the planet, the Dergeln , who are skeptical of them from the start. Visitors are considered enemies and a catapult with pancakes fired. The voracious puffer fish eats one pancake after the other, but that doesn't save the five. They are caught and brought into the interior of the planet. There it quickly becomes apparent that the planet is actually a giant apple that keeps growing back.

The five puppets can escape and try to leave the planet with a self-made hot air balloon in which the puffer fish serves as a balloon. They do not succeed in this because of a ruse by the Dergeln. Back on the apple star, the inhabitants of the earth are supposed to protect the dergeln from a giant worm that threatens to destroy the apple star. As it turns out, this giant worm is nothing more than a giant caterpillar that is well-disposed towards the five and also the Dergeln.

When everyone is satisfied, a new danger threatens the planet because it smells of baked apples . The surface threatens to burn, and this is due to a weather satellite whose mirror now reflects the sunlight directly onto the apple star. Chinaboy and the caterpillar, who befriended the puffer fish, make their way into space again with the puffer fish as a balloon to turn the mirror around. They succeed and the apple star seems saved. As a thank you, the inhabitants of the earth receive a wish from the Dergeln time wish machine. It quickly becomes clear that they want to get back into the box and back on board the ship from which the adventure started. However, the alarm clock is stolen by a thieving magpie . In the meantime Raupi transforms into a butterfly and together with Heiko can get the alarm clock back from the magpie hiding place on the red cabbage moon.

And so the five come back into the box and on the ship to Old Heiko, who wakes up again. When the sailor opens the box, a butterfly flies out and joins the puffer fish.

The figures

  • Heiko Zweilinks-Zweirechts is a typical sailor, a boisterous character, whose recklessness is stopped by Grusinchen. Its name Zweilinks-Zweirechts comes from the knitting technique used to knit his sweater.
  • Ria from Rio is a beautiful porcelain doll . She is very careful and always careful not to get a crack in her china.
  • Grusinchen from Grusinien is the calm and level-headed part of the group. She brought her four daughters with her and needs their help when the group grapples with the caterpillar.
  • The pufferfish has to burp every time it hears about something edible or drinkable, which is why it constantly apologizes. It is used as a balloon for the hot air balloon, for which it is hung upside down with the open mouth over a candle. Later he gives the Chinaboy the R in exchange for pancakes, which the puffer fish is only too happy to eat. The puffer fish later makes friends with the caterpillar or butterfly.
  • Chinaboy cannot speak an R at first , which repeatedly elicits improvements and curses from Heiko. He is from Hong Kong .
  • The Dergeln are the inhabitants of the apple star and talk in their Dergel language, which consists only of the word “Dergel” in different accents. The leader learned the earth language in the telegram style, which is why he says "stop" at the end of each sentence. The typical way of Dergeln is to jump.
  • The caterpillar , which was initially seen as the enemy of the apple star, becomes more and more a friend and later turns into a butterfly. The caterpillar makes friends with the puffer fish.
  • In orbit on a satellite is a mouse that keeps passing the apple star. She makes sure everything is there and always has a cheeky saying on her lips.
