Wolfgang Kirchner
Wolfgang Kirchner (* 1935 in Danzig ) is a German writer and screenwriter .
Life
Wolfgang Kirchner studied German, Romance languages and art history. He translated plays a. a. von Balzac, Molière and Pierre Chesnot and wrote various radio programs, radio plays and radio features. His youth novel "We were not allowed to know anything about it" was published in 2002 by Rowohlt Verlag . Wolfgang Kirchner lives and works in Berlin .

Kirchner began his film career with the family series Kapitän Harmsen and wrote several episodes of the crime series Hamburg Transit . He wrote the scripts for the Bernhard Wicki films " The Spider Web " and "Sansibar or The Last Reason" and developed the six-part ZDF mini-series "Oronya or Human Dignity" about church development aid in Africa.
After his scripts, the mini-series created 'banker for Prussia' as well as the films "To think is to the devil worship", "The Wall chunks gang", " The Holy Whore ", " Storm Time " and " The Bridge " (remake). His documentary film "I don't die so easily in summer" was awarded the Robert Geisendörfer Prize ; "Sansibar or The Last Reason" received the Gold Grimme Prize.
Script teaching
Kirchner taught at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . He works as a lecturer for screenwriting at the dffb , at the Wiesbaden script camp and at the Bavarian Academy for Television and holds seminars at the Hamburg Berlin Film School . His work 'How to write surprisingly good scripts', in which he also describes the collaboration with Bernhard Wicki, was published in Berlin in summer 2015.
